In addition to including Valentine’s Day, February is also American Heart Month. And, how shall I say this, but while I am honored to help you with all your estate planning needs, I would love it if putting your plans into action didn’t happen for a long, long time. Of course, it is great to have your affairs in order for peace of mind and to protect your assets and loved ones, but really, it’s better to keep those documents in your home fireproof safe for a far-off future.
I know you know, the American Heart Association has a few suggestions on how to keep your heart going longer—just a reminder.
- Eat better (more veggies, fewer carbs)
- Exercise at least 150 minutes a week (that is only 21 minutes a day!)
- Get good sleep (I know, not always easy)
- Pay attention to and manage your weight, blood pressure, sugar, and cholesterol.
- If you smoke, quit.
I’m guessing that no matter how much your loved ones stand to inherit, they would much prefer to have you around, heart-healthy and happy, for a long time. I guess what I’m saying is, I appreciate your business, but let’s not put those documents into play sooner than necessary.
Please take good care of yourselves.
David
